Hey Guys,
Recently while browsing YouTube I found a smear campaign against Linux that I think is really counter-productive for the community:
his YT channel is lienucks*fails2 (take out the '*'...
Yeah I would recommend you using PulseAudio, as that is the sound server that I have been happily using for a while. I have never installed Ubuntu Studio, but I do occasionally record guitar and...
I have also fixed this before using the Windows CD. I think there's an option on the CD to fix your install and that will restore the MBR.
Sounds like this bug:

Might not have anything to do with your webcam.
Did you install Apache through the repos? Maybe check that UFW or some other security-based programs aren't blocking port 80. And for some applications, like gaming, you need to forward UDP as well...
XBMC seems like it might be what you're looking for:

Here's a thread on streaming XBMC to the Xbox 360:

Haha good idea
You need to setup port forwarding on your router, or alternatively you could put your Ubuntu server in your router's DMZ.
Try hitting ALT + F2 and typing in:
gksu nautilus /
Then navigate to your USB drive (probably in the "media" folder) in the window that pops up and try to delete the files.
If that doesn't...
Same problem. I have a Dell Studio 15 also. I think the issue is a kernel problem and hopefully will be fixed in the next kernel.
This has been done. It's a program called 'pianobar'. I also have a completed Pandora Radio wrapper. It requires that you install pianobar first. YouTube video to demonstrate:

As promised, here is a basic screen cast of the program in action:

I've been completely switched for like a year and a half except for the sad fact that I have an iPod touch and must sync it through VirtualBox.
I'm planning on adding those features later. The main obstacle with that is that this is kind of a hack to use pianobar and I cannot figure out how to read from the Python pipe to pianobar while it...
Ever since Google Chrome for Linux has been out, the battle has been won for me.
I'm not sure what you mean. Basically, I have made it so that if you click the system tray icon the program hides itself and if you click it again it shows itself. That way, if you are working for...
Glade file and Python source in the attached archive.
Here's some screenshots
IMHO making Ubuntu look like Windows or OSX is like taking the body off of a Ferrari and putting on a Corolla or Mercedes chassi respectively.

^^ That's a brand new program (.deb) I finished today that utilizes pianobar to make a standalone Pandora Internet Radio desktop application for...
Heard about some guy that used a windows xp theme to trick his wife because he couldn't afford the windows license and all she did was read e-mails and surf the web anyways.
Yep..but it is much more convenient to minimize it to the system tray unless you need it. Not only that, but this method uses less processor power.
Hello all,
I have developed a desktop application called "Pandora Control" that is a graphical wrapper for the command line program "pianobar". When they are coupled together they form a...
I am trying to use notify-send to send an icon and none of the icons I specify work. Only stock icons error, info, and desktop have worked using my -i parameter. So on Ubuntu 9.10 what daemon is...
